Crime Watch
Crime Watch participation doesn’t require a lot of time. It only means that each person adopts a more observant attitude on a daily basis and reports suspicious activities to 911.
According to the Dallas Police Department “a crime watch program is an organization of concerned citizens working together as good neighbors to reduce crime in their neighborhood.” Well, that means we’ve got a pretty solid Crime Watch group here at Stevens Park Village because we all do a pretty good job at looking out for one another.
Reporting Suspicious Activity
ALL calls to report crime or suspicious activities should be made to 911. Be ready to provide the following information:
1. Who you observed (a description)
2. What did you see, be specific
3. Where was it
4. When did you see it
5. Why in your opinion was it suspicious?
Remember, YOU know what’s normal in our little community. If you notice something is off, you need to be able to clearly communicate it to 911.
If at any time you believe your 911 call is not being handled appropriately, ask to speak to a supervisor immediately at the time of your call.
The more information you can provide the 911 Dispatcher the better, so take note of the following if you can:
SUSPECT
Race/Sex/Age
Height/Weight/Hair color
Peculiarities (Scars, tattoos, missing limbs, noticeable features)
Weapons (if any)
Clothing description
Method/Direction of travel
VEHICLE
License plate of vehicle (most important)
Year/Make/Model of vehicle

Damage or Outstanding features (One headlight, logos, antennae etc.)
